TOP SUMMER ACTIVITIES

Students love summer. Why? Cause there's no homework. No waking up early. Studies show that around 2 months of the things students learn during the school year are lost over the summer. Here are three activities your child can do to help maintain some brain activity over the summer.

1. Have a scavenger hunt.

The link above shows a color scavenger hunt. However, these are so versatile! Instead of colors, mix it up and have a shape scavenger hunt, numbers, or letters. It can be played on the go, at home, or even in the car.

2. Go outside and play.

We want our children to stay active throughout the summer rather than lay in bed or in front of the TV all day. Getting out for some fresh air gives them exercise and much need physical activity.

3. Go to the library.

Giving a child a book to read is one of the best ways to help them stay in "school mode." Books are cognitively stimulation and can help spark their imagination into various activities.
