    GARDENING CLUB

A few of our middle school students have decided to give our garden a major cleanup. Didn't know we had a garden? It's to the right of our front door along the side of our building. For the past few weeks they have been raking leaves, pulling weeds, and cleaning up the planter boxes. Just recently, they began planting some new plants for the spring season. We look forward to see the things they grow! Related: Check out our blog article about how gardening can help educat
    WORKING WITH FAILURE

    WORKING WITH FAILURE

February 4th, 2018, is a day that will be remembered for a lifetime by millions of Philadelphia Eagles fans around the world, myself included. I grew up in Southern New Jersey across the bridge from Philly as such I cheered for Philadelphia teams, and one thing we as Eagles were very aware of our lack of a Super Bowl win. The team that won a few short weeks ago carried with them the weight of decades of disappointment and broken expectations. There are many stories worth writ
    CCS MISSIONS WEEK

    CCS MISSIONS WEEK

For the second year in a row, CCS will be giving middle school students an opportunity to serve our local community through a 5-day missions trip during Spring Break (March 26-30). The goal for this trip is two-fold: 1) To provide care and hope for the needy 2) To live out the life of Jesus Christ We will start each day at CCS at 8:30 AM, have a time for prayer and devotions, then head out to a charity organization for the day. On Monday and Tuesday, we will be serving at t

Tomorrow is the first day of school for the 2017-2018 school year! We are so excited for this upcoming year. Our teachers have been working hard to prepare their classrooms and curriculum. As you arrive on campus tomorrow morning, keep an eye out for our giant "back to school" photo backdrop. We hope you will take some time to snap a photo of your child in front of the backdrop. Take a family photo too! We will have staff around to assist you in taking a family photo. W
6 REASONS TO PARTICIPATE IN SPORTS

6 REASONS TO PARTICIPATE IN SPORTS

I love playing sports.  When I was in high school, it was the one thing I always looked forward to.  It was a time where I could spend with my teammates and focus on something other than my schoolwork. Many feel it takes away from academics and that there will not enough time to do both.  Here are some reasons why participating in sports is beneficial for students. Exercise It seems pretty obvious, but we often fail to consider how much time students sit compared to being a

PLANT SMILES. GROW FRIENDSHIPS. HARVEST LEARNING.

The past few years, my parents have gotten into gardening. They cleared some space in our backyard and built two planter boxes. They planted a stalk of green onions and now we always have a supply of them in our garden. Need some? All we need to do is go outside and snip the amount we need. It’s great. Then my mother started growing zucchini. It’s a real easy vegetable to grow. It can take over the garden. The downside? We now have tons of zucchini! My mother tri
5 TIPS TO ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO READ

5 TIPS TO ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO READ

Growing up as a child, I hated reading. My preference? Video games. I could spend countless of hours in front of the TV, mouth wide open, working on leveling up my characters in the newest games. Meanwhile, my sister would spend all her time in her bedroom reading. My mother constantly tried to convince me to read. We’d go to libraries and bookstores. Reading was just never my thing. The only perk I had was that pretty much any book I wanted, my mother was willing to

    Summer School Starts!

Today marked the first day of summer school! With the education building painted with a fresh coat of paint, the building was busy with students from various schools getting to know one another and meeting their teachers. The afternoon enrichment classes had students excited for tomorrow. #school #ccsrams #ccsrams1718
    Potluck a "SMASHING" Success

    Potluck a "SMASHING" Success

CCS held its first potluck of 2017 tonight. We have been blessed with not only amazing parents, but amazing parents who can cook! Over 150 people attended and brought in various appetizers and desserts. The highlight for many was participating in the three piñata sessions. Students (and parent!) lined up and anxiously waited for their turn to smash the piñata. #schoolyear #backtoschool #ccsrams #potluck #ccsrams1617
